When choosing an online home study program, there are often many questions that may come up. Please review some frequently asked questions, or feel free to call us and speak directly with an admissions specialist.

A: Yes. The Ogburn Online School is fully accredited, and our high school diploma is accepted by most colleges, universities, trade schools, and the U.S. military. Many graduates successfully continue to higher education, join the military, or enter the workforce.

A: Our online homeschool program is self-paced and flexible. After a short admissions interview, students receive login details and can begin classes immediately. Coursework, lessons, and tests are completed fully online, available 24/7.

A: No. Students are not required to take public school state exams. Instead, we use the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessment to track progress and recommend placement in the next grade level.

A: Students have up to 10 months to complete a grade level, but many finish faster since the program is self-paced. A minimum of 15 weeks is required before moving on.

A: We use a standards-based curriculum aligned with Florida and national guidelines. Most of the curriculum is developed in-house by certified teachers and is designed to meet or exceed public school standards.

A: Yes. Because of our accreditation and adherence to state course numbering and standards, many students transfer successfully to public and private schools. Acceptance, however, depends on the receiving school’s transfer policies.

A: No. The Ogburn Online School awards an accredited high school diploma, not a GED. Our diploma is recognized by colleges, universities, and employers across the U.S.

A: You receive your high school diploma as soon as all course requirements are completed and tuition is paid in full.

A: Yes. Many of our graduates attend universities, colleges, and trade schools. Some also join the military or enter the workforce. Colleges may require placement or entrance exams in addition to the diploma.

A: Yes, in most cases. Each military branch has its own requirements, such as ASVAB scores, age, and physical standards. Some may also require higher education credits. We recommend speaking directly with a local recruiter.

A: We review your official transcript to determine which courses match. If the course names, numbers, or descriptions align with our program, we accept the transfer credits.
